Leaked iPhone 6 Schematic Confirms Protruding Camera, Will be 0.67 – 0.77 mm Thin

As we get closer to the announcement of the highly anticipated iPhone 6, the amount of leaks continue to rise. The latest leak comes from Chinese site Apple.club.tw showing a schematic of the 4.7 inch iPhone 6 with a protruding rear camera, as was rumored previously.

The schematic reveals that the upcoming smartphone will have a protruding camera that will be 0.67 – 0.77 mm thin. Photos leaked in the past of iPhone 6′s rear panel also show that the smartphone will have a protruding camera, including a recent photo of the fully assembled iPhone 6 exposed by Feld & Volk. Although the veracity of this schematic can’t be identified, the iPhone 6 is said to be 7 mm thin and this requires the smartphone’s rear camera to protrude out a bit.

The Chinese site also mentions that N56 is the codename for the 4.7 inch iPhone 6 while N61 is for the 5.5 inch model.

Apple is expected to announce the iPhone 6 on September 9 and will be available in 4.7 inch and 5.5 inch models. However, the 4.7 inch model will likely land in markets a week later after its announcement while the latter will be released by the end of this year due to production issues. Both the devices are expected to feature a faster A8 chipset, an improved camera, Touch ID, NFC, a faster 802.11ac WiFi and iOS 8 operating system.
